All of the Cherries used in the making of this port have been proudly sourced from New Zealand families in beautiful Roxburgh. During the fermentation we remove the cherry pulp and distill with our Portuguese Alquitar still. The spirit is an intense Cherry Brandy which we then add back to the wine to make our port 20%.
Ruahine Ports is the only commercial winery to age with New Zealand native wood, Mountain Totara.
